Is my torque converter going out?

First of all, the vehicle is a 1985 GMC Sierra 1500. I have recently been loosing power and the motor revs up high before shifting. Plus, when I inspected the torque converter (still in the truck), while vehicle was running it wobbles and also makes a clanking sound. Should I just replace the converter or do I have more problems on my hand?
